Scalp Micro-pigmentation

Professional: Jakob Dazey

Scalp micro pigmentation, hair tattoo, also known as SMP is considered a semi-permanent treatment. The treatment of the pigmentation is when the professional creates layered dots in different hues to recreate/mimic the shadows on your scalp. This is a style known as pointillism, which creates a natural looking depth and definition. This service is done with a tattoo machine. This service is perfect if a person is bald or has bald areas, scars on scalp, receding hairline, thinning hair, or just wanting a more prominent hairline.

  • Why Chose Scalp Micro-pigmentation?

    • SMP give the client immediate results! this is service does not use harsh chemicals, shampoos, or medicinal products. SMP can last for many years as long as the aftercare procedure is followed correctly. With this treatment, you as the client have total control. Your input on how much volume, the color, the look of your hairline, and the expertise can bring your look to life.

  • Does Scalp Micro-pigmentation damage hair?

    • This treatment does not grow hair or change the natural growth of your hair. It is not a hair loss treatment. It implements pigment into the scalp to create an illusion of fuller, thicker hair. SMP does not cause hair loss or damage the existing hair follicles.

  • Can hair still grow after SMP?

    • Hair will continue to grow even after the SMP treatment is finished. as stated it is to show a fuller and thicker look of hair to mask the balding and thinning in areas of the scalp. Hair growth products in conjunction with SMP can be continued for a full head of hair.

  • How long does SMP last?

    • The pigment can last as minimal as two years as maximum as eight years. Results vary upon skin, sun exposure, how often the scalp is washed and with what products, and the aftercare. A large amount of oil and sun exposure will cause the pigment to fade. Two to three touch ups are required for the SMP treatment to be complete. â€‹

  • How Painful?

    • Pain level = Pain Tolerance. There is minimal pain as a numbing cream is applied to the scalp before the SMP treatment begins. Yet it is still a tattoo machine and needle to insert the pigment in the scalp, so there will always be a form of discomfort. It is solely based on each individual person.

  • How to prepare

    • No alcohol, caffeine, or medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, Tylenol that would thin the blood, 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. The scalp will be cleaned before service but must also arrive in clean condition.

  • What are potential side effects?

    • If you are prone to keloids, this service can not be done. Any person on blood thinners, pregnant, or nursing shall not be serviced. There can be minimal scabbing as it is a needle puncturing the skin. Possible allergic reaction to the pigment can arise during or after the service. â€‹

  • What is the aftercare?

    • For the first week after treatment refrain from using water on your scalp, NO washing your scalp, just dab a wet cloth on scalp to help keep clean. Wear a shower cap when showering. There will be minimal scabbing after SMP so do not itch or scratch at your scalp. Sun exposure needs to be limited, no sunburn or tan for 28 days. Drink water to improve hydration. For the five days after treatment restrain from strenuous workouts, avoid chemicals like shampoos and conditioners, shaving and touching of the scalp. The next five days maintain the previous aftercare, gently rinse your scalp of dirt and may use a fragrance free moisturizer on the scalp. After 10 days the client can go back to their everyday life of exercise and activities. at this point you will be ready for the next session or completion.
